Mainly this is an excuse for me to talk, and try to make the site less messy. But it's important. This site is for NaNoWriMo, that lovely month of November where writers try to write 50k words. It can be a story, a collection of poems, whatever you like to write. Our site is here to store those lovely words, but most of all, inspire. When you're stuck we've got things to get you out of dreaded writer's block and into the muse kingdom. When you're just not happy with your writing, we have a place where loving (and educated) members will critique your writing. When you're tired of writing, we've got the games to keep you creative and help you unwind. Most of all, you'll make friends, writing buddies, that will hopefully last even until after the site is gone. (which is NEVER!) So if you haven't joined, I hope that helps you understand why you should.
With love and care,
Abbi

Rules and other stuff... « Thread Started on Aug 31, 2008, 8:45am »
HELLO my pretties! Welcome to the NaNoWriMo Hideout! It's a little hovel just for us writers to come together and be frustrated together! I mean, reach our goals together!
Yeah!
Either way, be prepared for frustration, hehe.
MOVING ON! There are very few rules to this place, as most of the rules are comprised of general, unspoken common sense. But here are the ones that I will put up, and if any of those unspoken ones are broken, you better bet your butter that they'll be up here, too:
RULE NUMERO 1: FOR CHRIST SAKE, BE NICE! There is zero tolerance for rudeness of any kind, whether it be worn out sarcasm or a genuine insult. Sarcasm is great, don't get me wrong, but IT GETS OLD. This is a gathering of kind folk, people! Come on! There's no need to be rude and snappish.
That's my job.
RULE NUMERO DOS: FOR CHRIST SAKE, BE CONSTRUCTIVE! In order to gain a post count here, you must leave constructive criticism! That's right! Only comments in the Novel Bank and Other Construction boards will up your post count, so please leave your fellow writers some comments. I'm sure a few minutes of your time won't hurt you, and it would be greatly appreciated.
Those are the two biggest rules I can think of. Wow. Slow day for me, today...
